In a November 2025 X post, Musk said Tesla's AI5 chip would begin sample and limited production in 2026, with high-volume manufacturing expected in 2027. The schedule gives Tesla about two years to take its next self-driving chip from first samples to mass production. The prediction remains pending against a 2027 deadline.
