Musk told the Q3 2022 earnings call Tesla was 'tentatively aiming for 50,000 units in 2024' for the Semi. That volume was not delivered: only pilot/low-volume units were built through 2024. Tesla's dedicated high-volume Semi line in Nevada produced its first truck on April 29, 2026 (~16 months after the end-2024 target), but projected 2026 output is only ~5,000–15,000 units — far short of the promised 50,000. In 2023, Musk said Tesla was 'tentatively aiming for 50,000 units in 2024' for the Semi in North America. The electric truck's volume-production target had already slipped from 2019 to 2020 to 2022 before landing on 2024. That deadline was missed as well, with the goalposts moving again to 2025.
