At the November 2017 Tesla Semi and Roadster unveiling, Musk floated a $200,000 starting price for the next-generation Roadster and indicated deliveries would begin by 2020. The announcement put the new sports car about three years from customers' driveways. The 2020 deadline passed without production beginning.
