“I am confident that in less than a year you will be able to go from highway on ramp to highway exists without touching any controls.”
What actually happened

Musk promised in June 2014 that within a year a Tesla would go from highway on-ramp to exit without touching any controls. Navigate on Autopilot reached that in April 2019 with automatic lane changes, nearly four years late, and it still requires hands on the wheel. Status: Partial · 3.8 years late. Sort of happened.

At Tesla's June 2014 shareholder meeting Elon Musk said that within a year a Tesla would drive from a highway on-ramp to the exit without the driver touching any controls. Tesla's Navigate on Autopilot did most of that in 2019, with hands still on the wheel.
