Questions

Is Starlink worth it?

Worth it when your best alternative is DSL, slow fixed wireless or nothing. If you can get fiber or reliable cable, those usually cost less for the same speed. Home plans ran $55–$130/mo in the US when we checked on 11 Oct 2026.

What are the pros and cons of Starlink?

Pros: it works almost anywhere with open sky, you can rent the kit for $0 up front, and there's a portable option. Cons: it costs more than wired broadband, it needs an unobstructed view, plans vary by area, and rental kits must be returned when you cancel.

Is Starlink good for gaming and video calls?

Video calls and streaming are fine for most users with a clear sky view. Fiber still has lower, steadier latency, so competitive gamers with a fiber option should take fiber.

US list on 11 Oct 2026: Residential 100 Mbps $55, Residential 200 Mbps $85, Residential Max $130. Roam (travel) starts at $55. Taxes are extra and your address can change prices.
