“And of course it'll have a dual motor all-wheel drive, and we expect to start to reach volume production in the second quarter next year.”

What actually happened

Q2 2015 passed with zero Model X production. First deliveries were a six-car ceremony at the end of September 2015, and Tesla's own Q4 2015 numbers showed just 507 Model X built and 208 delivered in the entire quarter — volume production only arrived in 2016 after months of falcon-wing-door and seat-supplier problems. Reclassified delivered-late: volume production DID arrive — by Q2 2016 Tesla was delivering ~4,625 Model X per quarter (Tesla's own Q2 2016 report), roughly a year past the promised quarter. Late, not never. Electrek — Tesla Q4 2015 deliveries: 507 Model X produced, 208 delivered ↗

At the June 2014 shareholder meeting — with the Model X already a year behind its original schedule — Musk re-promised volume production for the second quarter of 2015. The quarter came and went with no cars; Tesla built 507 Model X in Q4 2015 and didn't reach real volume until 2016. A restatement of the 2012 Model X timeline, tracked separately by design.
