The fine print

Said Aug 21 2026 (oEmbed-verified @elonmusk, html dated August 21 2026) in reply to a thread about the White House targeting 1,000 US launches/reentries by 2030. Distinct from #242 (at least one Starship flight a day by Aug 2027, from the Aug 4 2026 earnings call). This is the 2030 scale-up: 30+ per day, ~10,000 annualized. Four days later the Starbase Louisiana announcement is the site he said would enable that cadence (#251). Same-day Louisiana thread (Aug 25) he added that Starship 4 'will enable over 2M tons/year to orbit' — capability of an undated vehicle, not a separate card; related to #189 (1M tons to orbit by ~2031).

On August 21 2026 Elon Musk said SpaceX was aiming to reach 30-plus Starship launches a day in 2030, about 10,000 flights a year. That is an order of magnitude beyond his August 4 earnings-call promise of at least one Starship flight a day within a year. He compared even that 2030 rate to airplane flights and called it still tiny. The Starbase Louisiana spaceport announced four days later is the launch site he said would make a 30-plus-a-day cadence possible.
