Tesla 'urban transport' bus unveiled in 2017

“In addition to consumer vehicles, there are two other types of electric vehicle needed: heavy-duty trucks and high passenger-density urban transport. Both are in the early stages of development at Tesla and should be ready for unveiling next year. ... With the advent of autonomy, it will probably make sense to shrink the size of buses and transition the role of bus driver to that of fleet manager.”
What actually happened

The 'high passenger-density urban transport' vehicle — described as a smaller autonomous bus with summon buttons at bus stops — was never unveiled in 2017 or any year since. The closest thing Tesla ever showed is the 20-passenger Robovan concept at the 'We, Robot' event in October 2024, seven years after the promised unveiling, and that vehicle has no production date. Master Plan, Part Deux promised a Tesla bus — 'high passenger-density urban transport' with shrunken autonomous buses and fixed summon buttons at bus stops — would be unveiled in 2017 alongside the Semi. The Semi appeared on schedule; the bus simply vanished from Tesla's communications. The forgotten half of the Master Plan Deux vehicle promise.
